About me

Janette Dishuk, MA, LMT, R-DMT, CPMT, Reiki Level I Practitioner, PBT-certified instructor,  is the founder/director of Synergy Arts & Wellness and the creator of Synergy’s signature programs and events. She is a professional dance artist, licensed massage therapist, certified pediatric massage therapist, Reiki level I practitioner, creative arts & dance/movement therapist, wellness coach/consultant/mentor, special events director/coordinator, program development specialist, researcher, and an adjunct dance professor. She is a national and international performer and presenter - having presented at the 2019 IADMS, NDEO, and Expressive Therapies Summit conferences, and having been a featured dance performer at the global TEDMED 2014 conference. As an integrative arts and wellness professional with over 20 years of experience, Ms. Dishuk continues to perform, teach, and work with organizations and individuals developing and providing wellness programs and unique events. She is an active member of ADTA, DFD, IACAET, IADMS, and NOAH, and proud team member of the Bridge Dance Project – NJ and A Call to Boy Moms. Her passion and dedication to creativity and health are informed and supported by evidenced-based and narrative-based research and best practices, which collectively guide her work in education, advocacy, collaboration, performance, research, and program development. 
Ms. Dishuk graduated from Villanova University with her B.A. in Sociology with double minors in Psychology and Education and holds her Master of Arts in Creative Arts Therapies concentration Dance/Movement Therapy from Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions. She is registered with the American Dance Therapy Association and is a NJ-state licensed massage therapist specializing in pediatric massage for children/teens/infants, massage for mental health, dance/sports massage, therapeutic touch, palliative/comfort care touch, and reiki/energy healing. She is a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist through the Liddle Kidz Foundation™ specializing with children and adolescents with trauma and other specialized pediatric issues. 
Since 2000, Janette's passion, dedication, and advocacy for dance and creative wellness has led her to develop numerous programs, classes, and workshops. She continues to perform and work with organizations and individuals for the development of creative arts and wellness programs in healthcare, education, corporate, senior living, rehabilitative, justice, and cultural and community settings. She continues to work closely with organizations, schools, medical and mental health facilities for program development and implementation using her in-depth knowledge, experience, and resources from all her professional fields to creatively meet their goals, needs, and mission/vision.
Ms. Dishuk has an extensive background focused on community work and personal development using dance & the creative arts, and health & wellness practices. She has over 20 years of experience helping children, teens, families, schools, and organizations build relationships and community. She continues to work toward integrating dance/movement and wellness programs into diverse settings and enjoys working on new and emerging collaborative and innovative projects and programs. She has a passion and dedication for helping those around her and working with nonprofit and charitable organizations. These opportunities come in the form of performance, education, consultation, program development, research, advocacy, special events, and fundraising in healthcare, educational, corporate, justice, cultural, community, and outreach settings.
